You need to dress according to the weather. You should bring a fresh shirt for after training, a towel and water.
Whatever makes you comfortable. We suggest sweats and a comfortable (long-sleeve) t-shirt. Make sure not to wear something really nice, as we from time to time do experience a torn shirt :)
We strongly suggest that you bring body protection (groin protection for men) and mouthguard to each class. No need to buy or use hand wraps, as we do not hit with our fists.
Yes, our programs and training include guns, knives, sticks, canes, batons and other more "unconventional" weapons.
Currently our Krav Maga classes are strictly for ages 16 and up.
Absolutely! What better way to ensure that your better half is as prepared to face an attacker as you are? As an added bonus you are guaranteed a workout and training partner in your house as well.
We recommend 2 classes per week and our schedule allow you to mix your days each week, depending on your schedule. We also offer regular seminars, which allow you to train for several hours over the weekend. Krav Maga, unlike martial arts, is a very fast-progressing system. Part of its design was driven by the need to train people very quickly and very efficiently. Consequently, it typically takes a person of average physical ability perhaps only a couple of months before significant progress is achieved and noticeable.
Some Krav Maga organizations offer a color belt system of advancement in expertise. However, there are no specific competition events for Krav Maga like there is for martial arts. Similarly, there are no katas in Krav Maga. Each belt level carries with it various techniques that must be performed in a testing environment. We have no plans of implementing belt systems for adults.
Krav Maga was designed to benefit the average person. The system is not about sheer strength or power. As a matter of fact one of the basic tenets of Krav Maga is that one should not oppose power with power. Rather, Krav Maga blends a combination of physical skill with mental self-defense determination. Consequently, Krav Maga is more accessible to more people of either sex, shape or size than many martial art forms.
Real Krav Maga is true self-defense where we do NOT fight, but fast and effectively stop an attacker by any means necessary. The very nature of the principles, techniques and mindset involved in Krav Maga self-defense makes it impossible to conduct traditional "sparring".

There is none. There are people over 70 taking Krav Maga classes nationally. Locally, we have people in their 40's, 50's and 60's not only taking Krav Maga, but excelling in Krav Maga. It is always a good idea to check with a doctor before engaging in strenuous physical activity.
